*** Our Fall 2008-2009 Season will be at our new location...

     Rinaldi's Riverdale Bowl and our start time is 5:00p.m. on

     Sunday, September 7th, 2008...why not join us!!! 

     Hope to see you and your friends joining us for our 3rd Fall Season. Don't miss

       out...SIGN UP NOW ON OUR "CONTACT US" PAGE by emailing your contact

      info so that we may get in touch with you...

      (note: by signing up to join you are agreeing to bowl every Sunday that you possibly

      can for the entire 32 week commitment from September to around the first of

      May...you can also sign up to bowl as a substitute...this does not obligate you to

     every Sunday...a sub can bowl when a team member is absent...a sub joining must 

     pay the $19 Sanction Fee and does not pay the weekly fee whenever they sub for an 

     absent bowler) 

 

*** Organizational Mtg...tentatively scheduled for Sunday, Aug 31

     time to be determined...this is where you will have input and gain info on the league...keep

*** CONGRATULATIONS to our league Founder CC Ford on two 

     very special events in her life...1st, she drove to Hollywood

     California with her partner Joyce and they legally married  on

    July 17th! and 2nd, Team DC Sports First Annual Champion's

    Awards Reception will honor CC Ford with the MVP Award for

    her work throughout the past year with our league!!! What an

    honor on both accounts...congratulations CC...way to go!!!

*** LGBT Community Newsletter (August) keeps you informed with everything

*** Capital Pride Weekend was spectacular...we were represented in the parade

     on Saturday with several members that marched with the CARA group and

     again at the CARA table during Sundays events downtown...

*** AWARDS BOWLING BANQUET was a huge success...many awards, trophies, certificates and

     worthy recognitions were given. View the achievements and fun we had on our photo web site...

*** League of Women Bowlers Rocked the Richmond GRITS Tournament the weekend of May 30th!!!

Bringing home the honors of All Events 2nd Pl was "Say Say" and she also got awarded for 1st Pl in the Singles Competition and her Partner Toni Kelly and her took honors for 1st Pl in the Doubles

Competition...Pooh and Julia took 3rd in Doubles and Nadine took 3rd in Singles...CC and Vanessa took pride in being awarded also

...even though it was for Low Score Doubles...lol...it was all good because their team took honors for having the Best Team Name "Entyceeingly Good"!!!  Thanks to Meg Powell (Tournament Director) and her great group of ladies for sponsoring such a fun tournament...we'll be back  next year for GRITS...check out the photo show at  www.photoshow.com/members/ccford

 

*** CC also participated in the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO) in Atlanta, Ga at their Annual Memorial Day Weekend Tournament ...as a bowler and as the Chairperson of the Ladies Social for the 2010 Bid for DC ...DC lost out on the bid to host this awesome tournament in 2010 to the

Columbus, Ohio group but we racked up in the winnings with one of our male CARA League members  winning the top awards in just about every category...congratulations to all our CARA Bowlers who represented DC quite well...also on our photo show web site...check it out...it was fabulous!!!      

 

 

 

*** CARA Tournament Results (March 2008)

Our members participated in one of their first ever tournaments: the CARA Intra-League Tournament

 ...we were represented by Julia-Bobbi-Colleen-Sharon and Neicey 

They won 8 games and lost 2 to  place 2nd Overall and 3rd in the Finals!!! Woohoo!!! Way to go ladies...

IN THE CARA 8-PIN NO TAP TOURNAMENT

**Atlantic City Trip ...was a huge success...with a bus full of league

     members and friends, a ball was had by one and all who went. Great job Dee!!!

 

  

 

*** We had 8 participants in the CARA 9-Pin No Tap Tournament held at our house in the 

     AMF Laurel Lanes this past Saturday (March 8th)...we rocked the house with our

     representation! CC took 1st Place with an impressive series of three  games over

     200...Sharon came in 3rd and  Sabrina came in 4th...way to go LOWB!
